The list of famous white female Australian rappers begins with Iggy Azalea – and probably ends with her as well, unless Olivia Newton-John has a gangsta side she has yet to share with us. Iggy will be appearing July 26th at The Cosmopolitan.

Iggy – real name Amethyst Amelia Kelly – burst onto the music scene in 2011 with suggestive YouTube videos for two songs, only one of which can be safely named here (“Two Times”). She entered the mainstream with “Fancy,” a song that went to #1 in America the same time that Ariana Grande’s “Problem,” on which Azalea also appears, was ranked #2.

Singing on the #1 and #2 records on the same chart is a Beatles-like achievement, and one that is bound to bring out the summertime crowds for her upcoming concern at the Cosmopolitan.

Her current tour hasn’t quite generated the controversy of Miley Cyrus’s antics, though it’s not for lack of trying. Azalea appears in the kind of revealing outfits that even the fittest of those lounging poolside might be intimidated to wear. Yes, she now has the most famous backside since the glory days of Kylie Minogue and Sheena Easton, and yes, she’s not afraid to show it off.

Backed by a quartet of dancers with stripper names (Bunny, Kiki, Candi and Cherry), the blond diva MC rips through a high-energy set punctuated by twerking and confetti.

It’s hard to imagine a better place to watch Iggy get jiggy than the Cosmopolitan’s Boulevard Pool, an intimate, open-air space that overlooks the heart of the Strip. The hot Vegas summer just keeps getting hotter.
